Jennie Kim FAST FACTS
Jennie Kim’s Early Life And Career
South Korean pop singer Jennie Kim is part of the all-female K-pop group Black Pink. After completing her education in New Zealand, Kim relocated to Seoul, South Korea, where she was hired by YG Entertainment as a trainee. She was given a home-stay family to reside with while attending Waikowhai Intermediate School in New Zealand. Jennie Kim’s enrollment at ACG Parnell College came after she finished Intermediate. When Kim was very little, she envisioned herself as a ballet dancer.
When Kim was 14, her mother wanted to send her to Florida in the United States so she could continue her education and become a lawyer or teacher. Still, she rejected the notion since Kim had heard of K-pop while living in New Zealand and had grown particularly interested in the music of YG Entertainment. In 2010, Jennie Kim’s family agreed with her choice and arranged for her to return to South Korea shortly after.
She became well-known after appearing in the music video “That XX” by G-Dragon. She subsequently appeared on his track “Black” as well. ‘YG Entertainment’ had been hyping the release of ‘Black Pink’ for a while, and on August 8, 2016, Jennie made her official band debut alongside Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé. In addition, Jennie Kim has worked with musicians such as Lee Hi on his single “Special,” and Seungri on “GG Be,” “Eventually.” She shares a sizable fan following with the other band members and is frequently seen as the band’s leader.
